David Buffrey’s Artist Statement

As a metal sculptor, I create abstract works that explore the human condition, the human form and emotion, capturing the strength, beauty, resilience, and complexity that shape our lives.

Central to my practice is the challenge of working with thousands of high-grade stainless-steel nuts. Each sculpture is meticulously MIG-welded, ground, refined, and sculpted to achieve a unified and enduring form.

To ensure durability and longevity, each sculpture is finished with an electrostatically applied powder coating-typically a crystal clear lacquer, though a wide range of colour options are available at the client’s request. Alternatively, sculptures can be left uncoated to showcase the raw stainless steel, offering a more authentic, minimalist aesthetic.

Every piece represents a milestone in my artistic journey, showcasing the ongoing evolution of my skills and vision.

My aim is to create original & distinctive works.

For international orders, a flat rate shipping fee of £200 applies to all destinations.

Returns & Exchanges

Commissioned work is made specifically to order and isn’t refundable.

If your piece arrives damaged or with an issue, please get in touch on the day of receiving it. If you can include a few photos and a quick description of what’s gone wrong, I’ll ask you to return it so I can take a proper look and carry out any necessary repairs. Once that’s sorted, I’ll arrange to get it back to you.
